LIC has been one of the pioneering Indian organizations in leveraging Information Technology for policy servicing and business operations. Unit Record Machines introduced in late 1950’s were phased out with Microprocessors based computers starting from 1964. Branch and Divisional Oces were also equipped with computers in 1980s for Back Oce operations. In 1990s, Standard Computer Packages were developed and implemented for Ordinary and Salary Savings Scheme (SSS) Policies.We have been upgrading our systems with relevant and appropriate technologies over the years.
